The Department of Law, Premier University, organized a workshop titled “Career Dimensions for Law Students” on 02 May 2026 at Room 303, Department of Law, Premier University. This 4th workshop was part of the ongoing workshop series arranged for the partial completion of the “Career Planning and Development” Course (CPD 0031), designed for the students of the LL.B. (Honors) Program, Batch 54, 4th Semester, Session Fall 2025 (OBE). The primary objective of the workshop was to provide students with practical guidance regarding diverse career opportunities available in the legal profession and beyond.
The first session was conducted by Mr. Abu Salem Md Noman, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bhola, who, in his insightful discussion elaborated on the wide-ranging career paths available for law graduates, including opportunities in the Bench, Bar (Civil, Criminal, and Corporate practice), Supreme Court practice, Bar-at-Law, Judge Advocate General (JAG), Law Officer positions, and higher studies abroad. He emphasized the importance of professional ethics, analytical skills, advocacy competence, and strategic career planning for aspiring legal professionals.
The second session was delivered by Mr. Md Minhazul Islam, Enterprise Advisor, International Labour Organization (ILO). He provided a comprehensive overview of career prospects in both local and international organizations, highlighting emerging opportunities in development sectors and compliance-based professions. He particularly focused on the growing demand for expertise in International Labour Standards (ILS), compliance, policy analysis, and organizational governance, while stressing the importance of developing communication, research, critical thinking, and technological skills from the early stages of legal education.
The workshop was highly interactive, allowing students to engage directly with the speakers through questions and discussions on career planning, skill development, and future professional challenges.
Among others present at the program were Mrs. Tanzina Alam Chowdhury, Assistant Dean, Faculty of Law, Premier University; Mr. Anup Kumar Biswas, Chairman, Department of Law, Premier University; and Mr. Hillol Saha, Associate Professor, Department of Law, Premier University. The overall supervision of the workshop was carried out by the course teacher of CPD 0031, Mr. Ahmad Rajib Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of Law, Premier University. The workshop concluded successfully with active participation from the students, enriching their understanding of the multidimensional career opportunities available in the legal profession.
